notifly
CompareNotifly vs Courier

One trigger in, one event billed.

Courier is a hosted notification API. Its published pricing gives the Developer plan 10,000 sends per month, then moves to $0.005 per send on Business; role-based access control, observability integrations, and EU data residency are listed under Enterprise. Message logs are kept for 30 days on Developer, 90 days on Business, and a year on Enterprise, after which they are "automatically deleted and cannot be recovered."

Notifly prices the same job by workflow event rather than by send: 10,000 events a month free, 50,000 at $19, 500,000 at $149, and $0.80 per additional thousand. A notification that fans out to an inbox, an email, and a push is one event — the extra delivery cost lands with your own providers, whose keys you bring and whose invoices you already pay.

The features that stay behind Enterprise

Courier lists role-based access control, observability integrations, and EU data residency as Enterprise items. In Notifly, role-based access control and translations arrive on the $149 Team plan alongside custom environments, webhooks, and unlimited members — self-serve, on a 14-day trial, with no call required. SAML SSO and SCIM directory sync remain Enterprise features on both products.

What does per-send pricing actually cost you?

At $0.005 per send, a million notifications is $5,000 — and digests plus multi-channel fan-out inflate the send count faster than your user count grows, because every channel a single notification touches is another metered send. Notifly meters the workflow event instead: one trigger is one event no matter how many channels it fans out to, and the plan price is fixed until you cross its allowance, at $0.80 per additional thousand events.

What does Courier do that Notifly doesn't?

Courier is a genuinely good product and some of it has no Notifly equivalent: the Design Studio template editor, an embeddable designer you can hand to your own customers, a maintained CLI, and a support organization with an SLA at more tiers than ours. Its billing is also honest about seats — you pay for notifications, not team members, where Notifly caps Free and Pro at three members. And its paid plans keep message logs longer than our free plan does. Weigh those against where roles and translations sit on each price list.
