Notification cost calculator

Enter how many notifications you send a month, on how many channels, and how many app users and email sends you have: the calculator prices that month on Notifly, Knock, Courier and OneSignal from the prices each vendor publishes, and shows what each one counts.

The vendors meter different things. Notifly counts events you trigger, Knock counts messages (one per user per channel), Courier counts sends (one per recipient, any number of channels), and OneSignal counts monthly active users, web push subscribers and email sends. Fees from the providers you connect, such as SendGrid or Twilio, are billed by those providers and left out everywhere.

  • NotiflyPro$19 /month

Events triggered (one per notification, however many channels it reaches): 50,000

50,000 events per month, flat. Notifly pricing

  • KnockStarter$500 /month

Messages (one per user, per channel): 100,000

$250 a month with 50,000 messages, then $0.005 a message. Enterprise prices are not published. Knock pricing

  • CourierBusiness$250 /month

Sends (one per template, per recipient, any number of channels): 50,000

$0.005 a send, the first 10,000 included. Enterprise prices are not published. Courier pricing, Courier billing docs

How to use it

  1. Enter your monthly volume. Notifications triggered a month, each to one recipient, and the channels each one reaches.
  2. Add your audience. Mobile monthly active users and web push subscribers, which OneSignal prices, and your email sends.
  3. Compare the bills. Each row shows the plan the volume lands on, the monthly price, the meter and the quantity it counted.
  4. Check the sources. Every price links to the vendor's own page, with the day it was read.

Frequently asked questions

Why do the vendors count different things?

Each one picked its own meter. One notification sent to one person on email and push is one event on Notifly, two messages on Knock, one send on Courier, and on OneSignal it is that person's share of the monthly active user count plus one email send. The calculator converts your volume into each meter so the bills can sit side by side.

Are provider fees included?

No, for every vendor. Notifly, Knock and Courier orchestrate delivery through providers you connect (SendGrid, Twilio, FCM and so on), and those providers bill you directly at their own rates. OneSignal bills email sends itself at the rate it publishes, which is included; it publishes no SMS price, so SMS is left out.

What happens above the largest published plan?

The calculator says "On request". Notifly sizes volumes above its largest self-serve plan with you, OneSignal's own calculator reads Custom from $2,000 a month, and Knock and Courier publish no Enterprise prices, so none is guessed here.

How current are these prices?

Each vendor's figures were read from its own pricing page and billing documentation on the date shown under the results, and the calculator is updated when a vendor changes them. Check the linked page before you decide.
